CAINTA OPENS ITS OWN ANIMAL SHELTER

Cainta now welcomes stray dogs and soon, cats, as it opens its own Animal Shelter. 

Located in its property in Tanay, Rizal, the Municipality of Cainta, through Mayor Elen Duñgo-Nieto, a professed animal-lover, led its opening on May 17, 2024. It is a testament to Cainta’s dedication to the well-being and protection of stray dogs and cats and for their humane treatment. 

The Cainta Animal Shelter is directly managed by the Municipal Veterinary Office, led by Municipal Veterinarian Dr. Jaime Innocencio III. Initially, ten (10) stray male dogs were transferred to the shelter, who will all undergo neutering. The shelter will soon house stray cats.
